Sid Wilson: A Win/Win Solution for Arizona’s Economy and the Environment

Mr. Sid Wilson is the General Manager for the Central Arizona Project (CAP), the utility that provides 40% of the water to the 4 million residents of Central Arizona including Phoenix and Tucson. However due to the recent drought, the source of this water the Colorado River, has been running at record lows. The challenge now facing the region is how to continue to provide water while protecting invaluable environmental resources. In years past the solution for such a daunting problem could be years in the making at the cost of millions of dollars in litigation. Recently however, Mr. Wilson has been at the forefront of an innovative effort where the CAP, Arizona and Environmental Groups have joined forces and proposed a solution that is both environmentally sensitive and provides water to the cities. This podcasts is Mr. Wilson's first opportunity to publicly discuss how this groundbreaking model for future environmental challenges was developed.
